Workshop Schedule
Please note the projects and knitting materials needed for each session:
Wednesday, December 3rd
Learn how to create a beautiful scarf which knits up super-fast and is so much fun to make. It’s called the shawl collar stitch, but it also looks a lot like a series of holiday wreaths. You’ll need a total of 400 yards of a solid, tonal, or self-striping yarn that gets 18 to 20 stitches in stockinette over a 4-inch swatch. Bring needles as indicated on the label plus bring needles that are 1 and 2 sizes both up and down from that size.
Wednesday, December 10th
Cozy hand-warmers couldn’t be more lovely or easier to knit. Bruce will show you how simple this intricate-looking herringbone pattern is to create. You’ll knit it flat and sew up the seam, leaving a small hole for the thumb. You’ll need 130 yards of a sold, tonal, or self-striping DK weight yarn or light worsted yarn. Bring needles as indicated on the label plus bring needles that are 1 and 2 sizes up from that size, plus a tapestry needle.
Wednesday December 17th
Bulky yarn lets you knit up these comfy slipper socks in no time. You can use your double point needles or bring a 40” circular and Bruce will show you how to do these using the magic loop. You’ll need 175 yards of a super chunky yarn in color A and another 40 yards in color B. The yarn should give you about 9.5 stitches in stockinette over a 4” swatch. Remember your double points or extra-long circular needles (at least 40”) so you can knit in the round. Yarn suggestion: Lion brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick.
