Sharing the Fire Theater Workshop: Stories to Light up the Season! In-Person
In this workshop children ages 6-14 in will act out the story of Trickster Coyote Shares The Fire: A Native American Trickster Tale from the Plains Indians. Children will play various dramatic roles of cunning coyotes, dancing fire spirits, frogs, eagles, mountains and more! They will help Trickster Coyote to rescue fire from the evil selfish fire beings. Other stories of fire will come to light and be celebrated: Songs and dances honoring the winter solstice, Chanukah and more will celebrate the magical light and welcome warmth within winter! Join us on Salisbury Central School's next half day! Registration is required.
About the presenter: Leslie Elias is the Artistic Director of Grumbling Gryphons Traveling Children’s Theater. The theater is the winner of the CT Governors Arts Award. Leslie is the recipient of the Connecticut 2018 Arts Hero Award, The 2018 Northwest Connecticut Arts Council Culture Max Award for Arts Educator, and the CT Artist Fellowship Award in 2024.
