Welcome to the new era of publishing! The rise and success of indie authors is transforming how books get made – and the old "self-published" stigma is gone. Whether you're getting ready to publish are are just curious, come find out about the best self-publishing platforms and resources available now.
Natalia Zukerman will discuss some of the pros and cons of self-publishing and then delve into the process with a brief tour of selected platforms including Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, BookBaby, BookWright, and Chatbooks. She will also show examples of self-published books and touch on other print-on-demand options.
Whether for a novel, history, or memoir; a collection of photos, poetry, or recipes; a how-to or travel guide; children's books or YA, self-publishing has enabled thousands of first-time and previously published authors to take control of the process, produce handsome bound editions, and get their books into readers’ hands, on Kindle, and in audio format.
Participants will have a chance to ask questions, discuss their projects or ideas, and think about next steps. =
Natalia Zukerman is a publisher, editor, illustrator, and cartoonist, as well as an internationally recognized singer and songwriter, a trauma-informed yoga and meditation teacher, a cultural diplomat, and a community organizer.
