From Echinacea Pollen to Hungry Caterpillars: A Native Species Talk & Walk with Michael LaScaleia In-Person
Join Michael LaScaleia for a 30-minute talk and Q&A at the Library (rain or shine). After the Q&A, we’ll take a short walk (weather permitting) to the Salisbury Land Trust’s Vincent Field for a discussion about what’s happening in the meadow. Socks and sturdy shoes are recommended.
Michael LaScaleia is a Putnam Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard’s Arnold Arboretum. His research focuses on his wide-ranging passions in ecology as well as his eclectic interests in plants, caterpillars and parasitoids. He hopes that his research in these systems will unlock the tools needed to fight invasive species. Michael holds a B.S. in Biology and Environmental Studies from Tufts University and a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Connecticut. When he is not hunting for caterpillars, you can find him hiking, kayaking or reading a fantasy novel. Learn more about Michael's work at this website.
