Go Native! Exhibition Opens April 2nd

Go Native! Exhibition Opens April 2nd In-Person

"Go Native!" is on display April 2nd through 30th.

Are you choosing plants for your garden or yard? It’s time to go Native!

Stroll through the Salisbury Association Land Trust’s “Go Native!” exhibition and learn about the biodiversity-boosting effects of choosing native species.

Your backyard can be a beautiful and healthy environment for many species of birds, butterflies, beneficial insects, and other wildlife. The plants you choose will determine the wildlife species attracted to your yard. By planting native species, you will provide food for the greatest number of insects. Even a modest increase in native plants at the base of the food web can significantly increase the number and diversity of breeding birds -- including species that have been in decline because of shrinking habitats.

This exhibit illustrates how using native plants and removing invasives and alien ornamentals will bring healthier biodiversity to your backyard!

The Scoville Library thanks the Salisbury Association Land Trust for the loan of this exhibit.

"Go Native!" is on display throughout the month of April.
