Knitting Workshop with Bruce Weinstein: Creating Beautiful Color Effects In-Person
Come create some beautiful knitted fabrics with knitting expert and designer Bruce Weinstein.
Back by popular demand, Bruce Weinstein's Knitting Workshop will meet for three Wednesdays: March 5th, March 12th, and March 26th, from 2:30 - 4:30 PM. (Please note: there is no meeting on March 19th.)
Bruce will show us how to create beautiful color effects using slipped stitches and dropped stitches. After we make these fabrics, we'll discuss ways so turn them into cowls, scarves, blankets, and even sweaters.
Tuesday, March 5th, Three-Color Icelandic Style
Please bring three different colors in the same worsted weight yarn. Bring a range of needles from the size recommended on the yarn band up to four sizes larger
Tuesday, March 5th, Two-Color Blister Pack Stitch
This is a fun stitch that creates a three-dimensional fabric with little bubbles of color surrounded by a solid background. We will learn to drop stitches and unravel them down four rows to pick up new stitches and create this gorgeous fabric. Please bring w different colors in the same worsted weight yarn. Bring a range of needles from the size recommended on the yarn band up to four sizes larger
Week Tuesday, March 26th, Four-Color Gingham
This sophisticated fabric is much easier than it looks. The hardest part is keeping your yarns untangled as you work. And Bruce has tips for how to wrangle your yarn into an organized state. Bring two different colors in the same DK or light worsted weight yarn. Bring a range of needles from the size recommended on the yarn band up to four sizes larger.
